BARKtoberFest on Main! is an event held to raise funds and awareness to local animal rescue orgainzations in attendance. Not only do we hope to do those two things, we also hope to help the rescue animals find furever homes. This creates a strong need for volunteers to help make this event run smoothly. Yes, we can hire and pay extra staff for the day but this takes money away from what we are trying to accomplish in the first place. Other than items being donated for raffles & contest prizes, Pawlee's funds the entire event which is a major financial undertaking for a small business. We sincerely love what we do and it is a way for us to give back to our furry friends in need.
With all of this said, we need your help. We do have some requirements for our volunteers. Please be sure to read through each description thoroughly and if you are still interested please fill out the form below and submit it by Sept 15th.
You must be able to attend the entire time the job requires.
You must be at least 18 years old.
You must have compassion for animals
You must enjoy working with people.
You must be reliable and punctual.

people assigned to this role with one checking in and taking payment for last minute registrants and the other person assigning the badges and giving any needed instructions.

Time needed: 10 am to 3 pm
Booth Set Up Assistants, Event Guide & Poop Patrol/Trash Pick Up:
Multiple opportunities are available here. There is a 2 hour window for vendors and rescues to get set up. This can be the most confusing and chaotic time of the event. With your help you can help it go smoothly. This role is to help vendors and rescues get set up prior to the event starting and then tear down after it ends. This may include directing them to their booth location, help set up their tent and table, help unload and load their items, etc. Many will not need your help to get set up but we need folks on hand to assist if needed. During the event we will need to help keep our Downtown a clean place. We will need a couple folks walk around through out the day to make sure any accidents are cleaned up and trash is picked up. We also need staff on hand to direct visitors if needed.
Time needed: 9 am to 5pm (may vary per person but no later than 5 pm)
Bark or Treat! & Doggie Water Attendants:
Bark or Treat! is where pet parents are given a free shopping bag to go around to our vendors and get free goodies. This could be samples, treats, coupons, etc. We need a couple people to make sure all vendors are kept stocked with goodies through out the day and water stations are filled for our furry visitors.
Time needed: 9 am to 4 pm
General Event Photography & Video:
We need someone to walk around take general event pictures and video. You will need to have a good phone that takes quality pictures and record video for us to use on social media and future promotions.
Time needed: 11 am to 4 pm
We need a someone with photography experience and quality equipment. The backdrop will be outside and we will charge a fee for folks to have a pic taken as a fundraiser for the attending rescue groups. 100% proceeds will go to the rescues. You will need to have way for photos to be accessed online after the event in a very timely manner.
Face Painter & Temporary Tatoos:
We need someone with creativity and have face painting experience. We will charge a small fee for face painting which 100% proceeds go to the animal rescue groups in attendance. We will supply the booth and supplies. Just bring your expertise and creativity!
